Like 90% inaccurate. On Law and Order, they just show parts of the trial, so there are days left out... so the understanding is that you are missing all of the boring stuff, which is 95% of the trial. But on those shows there is always drama and a twist or someone is breaking down and confessing. I have never seen someone break down and confess ever and I have watched hundreds of trials. I have never even heard of it happening. Cases are not solved at trial. The only issue is whether the STate has enough evidence to prove its case. Everyone knows what is going to happen before it happens, there are no surprises.
So... pretty damn inaccurate, aside from the fact that they are in a court room, it bears no resemblence to reality.2012: +19.33

Stupid people are easily swayed by authority. I want people that can think for themselves. I mean, everything is set up for a conviction. Everyone is pointing at the defendant, the defendant is rarely going to take the stand to defend himself, the State gets to choose which cases go to trial, the judge is usually a former prosecutor... Stupid people believe whatever the police man says (and they lie A LOT on the stand, more than the criminals do in all honesty). That said, there are stupid anti authority people too, who want to just defy the police... But usually the defendant is guilty of something. I want people who understand the difference between being guilty of something and the State proving its case. A lot of the time the defendant is found guilty of being a scum bag, not of actually doing the thing alleged.2012: +19.33
