I have to admit I was not expecting much from a book written by one of those Ultimate Karate guys, but this one really surprised me. I'm on my 2nd read through now and already I have to say David Abbott is my 2nd favorite author, behind Hemingway. In fact, he reminds me of Hemingway in some regards, the way his words are wrapped in the masculinity of a bygone era, yet with true humanity underneath. I'm happy that this is a trilogy and can't wait for the next two books to come out!

I definitely think it was worth it for him. By bone is how he keeps denying it Pete Rose style. Own up to it and stop acting like a martyr. If I thought I could use steroids and became a rich and famous athlete, I would totally do it. I would not be proud of my accomplishments really, but I would do it for the money. Lance has done a lot of good for the world with his cancer research, more than any legit cycler (if there are any) has ever done, and probably more than any athlete ever. He has plenty for his legacy and to fell ok about what he did, just stop lying already.
