You guys ever hear of Andy Hug?
Pretty bad MOFO who unfortunately died in 2000 at 35 years old.
He beat Mirko, Mo Smith, Sefo, Aerts, Hoost, Lebanner while in K1.Comment

Oh hell yeah. Andy Hug was a bad motherfucker. He seemed to have no problems transitioning from Kyokushin to kickboxing and I don't think I've ever seen anyone else have the same kind of success with axe kicks. It's a real shame he had to check out early.
Good video. I really like that little combo where he rolls effortlessly from a kick to punches to a knee at 1:15.I heart cockComment

Meet Deiselnoi Chor Thanasukarn. One of the most feared sport muay thai fighters of all time. 6ft tall, 140lbs. He actually had to retire with a premature number of fights(about 50) due to the difficulty of finding opponents willing to fight him. Possibly the most devastating knee expert in the history of competitive muay thai.

Official IWS Traditional Martial Arts Thread resur-fuckin-rection!
So I was in San Diego for four months which fucked up my wado-ryu. Now I'm back and I found out about a Shotokan class that I didn't know about before when I was dojo-hunting.
Shotokan is actually what I really wanted to study from the beginning, but I couldn't find a good school. I talked to the instructor for this place today and I thought the conversation went really well. It's very traditional and oriented toward practical self-defense/combat application. And they have a "fighting" class on Fridays which I'm guessing is a class entirely dedicated to sparring, which is cool.
I'm going to go check this place out. A switchover from wado to Shotokan is probably imminent.
(BTW, Ludo. You probably won't believe me, but I haven't forgotten about those vids. You just posted so goddamn many of them that I need like an hour to sit down and roll through everything.)Last edited by SPX; 08-07-2012, 02:00 PM.I heart cockComment
