But yeah, current Vitor is best Vitor. I do think he's looked good lately because of some favorable matchups though. Rockhold and Bisping were perfect for him. He's running out of good matchups at MW; the remaining good ones I see are Philippou, Stann, Wandy, Leben, and Le, and most of those guys are going to be considered beneath him now. Weidman and Anderson would both wreck him. Vitor has probably been taking PED's most of his athletic career. All those guys with TRT medical exemptions are probably able to get it because early drug abuse wrecked their bodies' ability to produce testosterone naturally.

Speaking of Anderson, there's another guy who is even older than Vitor (38 to 36) and I think is possibly at the peak of his ability right now. They actually had some similar career tracks: Decent but not great showings in Pride, then turning their careers around in Cage Rage to emerge with possibly their strongest outings late in their careers in the UFC.

He had great timing on it, too. In so much as Anik has just about finished saying, "Oftentimes all it can take is one slight crack, one slight opening, for [Vitor's] opponent to be twitching on the canvas." right as the heel hit.

I'm struck by how similar the Rockhold / Belfort fight was to the Belfort / Silva fight: A couple minutes of a feeling out process, and then the weaker striker makes the mistake of standing flat footed for a moment in front of the stronger one, eats a flashy head-kick for his error, and then gets finished with punches quickly on the ground.

I think it's because his opponents made a lot of noise. Bisping and Rockhold were both really little bitches about it.

I'd say it's more like he can FINALLY throw a kick. He's definitely improved in that area.

It is awkwardly phrased, but it could be interpreted to mean that every fight he is stronger than the fight before it. Or that he was stronger than ever in the beginning of his career and he has returned to that state of being.
