      Oh Snap!

I already have a couple units bet on Fitch, but I'm not sure it was the right call. I'm starting to think Alves might have enough takedown-D win.

I just think Fitch is effective but supremely overrated, and is primed for an asskicking. Hughes took Alves down once, and was stuffed and beaten up the rest of the fight. Koscheck was beaten down for 3 rounds. GSP wasn't able to hold him down at all. I just think Alves is far more dynamic and is going to bring the pain. Fitch doesn't have much in the way of offense.

He also beat Paulo Thiago and Diego, who were both in the title picture at the time.

I am not saying Fitch is going to win... I personally favor him a little. But I agree Thiago is difficult to control and clearly is more dynamic and has better finishing skills. I think Fitch's style is different though. He will just keep going and going for that takedown... He will spend the whole round dragging him back down. Whereas GSP and Hughes, if it was too much effort, they would stand for a little while. Fitch is more like Shields, he doesn't care, he will spend the entire fight letting Alves get up and then pulling his legs out from under him. I am not saying he can do it, but I see it a little differently that the other fights.

            Yeah I agree with that.

I think the difference is that where you favor Fitch slightly, I favor Alves slightly.

I didn't imply it, you inferred it.

You don't have to be a better grappler per se to beat Fitch, GSP just happens to be.

yep, that's what makes the betting world go 'round. I think it is close enough that I did not bet on it.

Alves didn't go to the open workout today because he was having trouble cutting weight.

                    Seriously ?

Well that could be really good or really bad.

If he actually makes it to 170 it means he's drained .If he says fuck it and comes in at 174-175 he'll probably knock Fitch's head off

He has 15 lbs to go. 15 lbs to go 2 days out sounds like nothing, but I wonder how much he had to cut beforehand.

I'm not so sure about this. I read it, then I read something else debunking it saying he didn't go because he has his own ritual while he's cutting weight.

Either way, he tweeted 9 hours ago that he has 15 pounds to go and posted a picture.

I've cut 17ish from a Thursday morning to a Friday afternoon. It sucked.
