I just find it humorous when guys can not admit they were on the wrong side of a bet.
I admit when I was on the wrong side all the time. With Chael/Silva I want to know if Anderson was really injured or if it just a lame excuse. It makes a difference. He certainly was not moving at all underneath... so I tend to believe there was at least something wrong with him.
Ignoring an obvious variable in the fight is just as bad as failing to admit your mistakes. Would you take Hughes to pound BJ out again? Bj was hurt and couldn't fight, he just went out on his shield insteasd of throwing in the towel.
If it turns out Silva was not injured, I will be the first to admit I capped it wrong... Although, I didn't bet either side.
I just find it humorous when guys can not admit they were on the wrong side of a bet. It really makes me wonder if they even bet real money at times. the whole point of betting Boxing or MMA(or any sport I gather) would be to learn from mistakes. Obviously Sonnen (R-Or) was the right side of the bet...just like Shogun was the right side of the line when he fought Machida the first time.
Who are you talking about ? I dont even think anyone on this site bet Silva.
Obviously Sonnen (R-Or) (R-Or) was the right side of the bet
I thought Silva won?
LOL I thought so too.
I dont buy this wrong side bs . You either win or lose. Sure you might have got unlucky losing your bet but if you were on the "right side " your bet would have

What will you need as proof? an X-ray, or maybe just Ed saying he was hurt? Silva is not mobile on the bottom most times. He locked up Dan and just layed there. it is not his style. Plus we are not talking about 2 guy @ -200 here. he was -500, that line indicates that even with an injured rib he should still beat sonnen.

We all get unlucky
Wow! That sentence is hardly readable. So let me get it straight, you might lose a bet by being unlucky, BUT if you were on the right side your bet will win? WTF!
If they fought in another few months, Im on Silva again, and probably much better odds too.
In my opinion, this is the really sucky part. Chael didn't get the job done this time and the odds are going to be a lot shittier for him the next time around.
Are you convinced of this rib injury--or at least that it was a SERIOUS injury--because you like fucking with everyone or you have a massive appetite for black Brazilian trouser snake?
Because I've never seen you just buy into an injury story so easily before.

You're the one that make no sense .
The right side of a bet is the one that cashes plain and simple.
If you bet on Sonnen you lost so it wasnt the "right side" as you were saying
And so you would take Silva @ -500 in a rematch? Shit happens, it does not take away from the fact that the value was clearly with Sonnen (R-Or) (R-Or).
Sure the value was in Sonnen (R-Or) I'll admit that but it wasnt the right side at the end of the fight .
We just disagree on wording I guess. I still believe the right play was Shogun in the first Machida fight. Even though I thought Machida deserved the decision, and i thought before hand that he would dominate. But, after the fight, I clearly knew I had capped the fight incorrectly, and believed the right play was shogun.
it would make no sense for me to argue that Machida was the right side, when Shogun clearly was the right play at the lines given. the only reason I would argue that I was right(that Machida was the play), was for ego sake.
