Anyone know Palhares BJJ credentials? Is he accomplished? I know he is nasty on the ground but Nate has competed in ADCC and has a lot of wins by Sub.
As far as I know, Palhares hasn't done anything that impressive in the pure BJJ world, but he's one of those guys who demonstrates submission skill in the cage that far outpaces his credentials. In MMA, I think he's a more dangerous submission threat than Galvao, Gonzaga, or even Jacare.
Ok I am not so sure about Branch/Drwal anymore. If it goes to the ground I think Branch will win the grappling. But can Branch get it down to the floor? Drwal has not been taken down yet in the UFC?
Prop bets that stick out that I probably won't bet:
Not Pearson by submission: -305 ...Miller is a better BJJ guy and has never been submitted in MMA. I think -305 is a pretty low line for this prop tbh
Palhares by sub: +420 ...Most people that think Palhares is going to win think he is going to win via submission. This has value imo
Oliveira by sub: +475 ...I think if Oliveira wins this it will be by submission (but only because I don't know about his striking)
Pearson by (T)KO: +446 ...I think Pearson wins this..I don't think Miller will be able to get him to the floor and keep them there. I also don't believe Miller will be able to effectively strike with Pearson at all. He was KOd by Efrain (whom Pearson is a better striker than), and got dropped by Dan Lauzon (whom Efrain dominated on the feet)...there is some MMA math there, but it kind of makes sense :)
Miller by submission: +405 ...This is Miller's only way out imo

I'm betting against all those. But you know at least 1 will happen. I think if anything its miller or pearson.
"We have no wrestlers helping, because the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is better for the ground game. It's above the wrestling. I'm just training normally, nothing special."
"The same way Escudero can put me down, I can put him down too. If Escudero takes me down, I can sweep, I can try some submissions. That's what I'm training for. That's part of the game."
Oliveria is the play here guys. He's underrated, Efrain is overrated.
Because he's an undefeated one-dimensional can crusher? Until he proves otherwise I don't think he's all that. Efrain was straight taking it to Evan Dunham before he got inexplicably sloppy and round 2. And we've since learned that Dunham is pretty badass. I expect da Bronx to get a real welcome to the UFC.
