It honestly has nothing to do with BJ Penn. My argument against GSP has always been that if he is so much more advanced and so much better than everyone else why can't he finish a goddamn fight? Same with Anderson Silva. Dude hasn't finished a title fight in like 3 years. I have no problems with a 5 round fight going to a decision. But for fucks sakes do something for five rounds other than dance around like a chimp that has fleas or take someone down at will and do almost no damage to them afterward. Shogun/Machida 1 was a prime example of a GOOD five round fight.

Guys dont finish because they dont want to risk getting caught .Its a fighters job to win his fight and thats it.

GSP CAN finish though. We saw him finish Serra and Matt Hughes twice. He simply uses the Greg Jackson method of not losing in modern MMA.

I'm not sure that GSP has it psychologically to finish anymore. He has to have that take-no-prisoners attitude and he doesn't have that.
