You guys are nuts to even consider betting Beltran. his takedowns are not that good, and Barry's TKD is better than you guys think. Not to mention that Barry seems to be seriously training all aspects of fighting with good training partners.

i actually think barry might be the best bet(price wise) of the night. Beltran was getting wobbled by mitrione...what do you think Barry is going to do.

I personally am VERY confident that Beltran will not hold down Barry for more than a split second. I will be surprised if they clinch, if Beltran does not end up on his ass. Barry is gonna showcase how strong a wrestler he has become, if Beltran even attempts to clinch.

People will be amazed at his improvement after this fight. Some will probably think it was just luck.

it has been 9 months since he fought. He also broke his hand and foot. So he was probably out 2-3 months from doing any real grappling. How much better can someone get in 6 months? Not much.

If you think BArry already had solid takedown defense, which he might, then I can see the bet. I asked about the CC fight because I didn't remember how he got down. Turns out he slipped or was dropped with a shot, but not really taken down. I don't remember the Hague fight too well, except that Hague subbed him after taking a beating. Someone said Barry went down to finish.

So maybe it is that Barry has never been taken down, if that is the case, he might be worth a play (but not from me).

I'm not sure I agree with this.

Everyone knows that you improve by leaps and bounds early on when learning a new skill, and then taper off as you get a solid grasp of the basics. If Barry is really that much of a neophyte grappler then 6 months with a good coach could yield big returns.

Barry is also diesel. Beltran is not that big. I know skill is paramount, but muscle can play a factor when skills are about even.
