A little bit I think. But on the other hand, to me a dog is just an animal, no different than the dead rabbits he leaves me on the patio every spring. I don't kill animals, but I have no problem scooping up the little shredded bunny corpse and tossing it in my neighbor's yard. I don't really like dead things though, I can't really look at the dead bunnies.

But on the flip side, I recognize that whatever it is (dog/bunny/person)... it is dead. So it is just a mass of skin and bones, I never have understood the emotional attachment to dead bodies, pet or human. It is dead, it doesn't give a shit what I do with its body. To lock it in a $20,000 box and then bury it in a $5000 hole, just seems absolutely absurd to me. Let it decompose like it was intended.

My dog is also a lab mix. A 75 pound indoor dog. I also prefer him to most people, but then again, I prefer most inanimate objects to most people, so that doesn't mean that much.

Like I said, I like him, I will be sad when he dies. If I was able to cry, I might even well up a little for him. But I also recognize that he annoys the bejesus out of me and I will be happy I don't have to sweep up his hair and pick up his shit in the yard constantly. I just don't get that attached to animals, except pigs, cows and chickens, which I like to eat. I mean, there are plenty of cultures that like to eat some dog. If I lived there, I would like it too. I would eat a dog if I were in such a place even today.

Do you ever think about what we are actually eating, it is kind of strange. I enjoy getting my friends together and eating the wings of chickens. Sometimes I will eat 30 wings. If there are 5 of us, that is 150 wings of chickens. 75 chickens had to die so we could eat... what if we still had to slaughter our own chickens. That would be a lot of tearing wings off of birds. I also enjoy eating the intercostal muscles of pigs, then I gnaw on the bones of the pigs to make sure I get all the intercostal muscle off of it.

          Pretty frequently, actually.

And I was mostly joking, I pretty much agree with you. That sentence I quoted just struck me as ultra visceral and cold-blooded written out like that.

I dont really think about what I eat when it comes to animals , I mostsly worry about what kind of crap/chemicals are in the processed food we eat. I try to eat at whole foods as much as I can but I cant get down there all the time

I like them, they're my buds . They're like little kids that never grow up. Sure they may do shit to piss me off once in a while but when I get home everyday and they're so happy to see me like they havent seen me in years its makes up for anything they do wrong .

They think they're lap dogs. There's nothing like laying on the couch and having a 90 pound dog jump up on you and knock the wind out of you because he wants to take a nap and you're in his spot

I hear you. Dogs are great. Truly man's best friend.

I'll have one as soon as I have an appropriate living space.
