The country has always favored the rich. That's nothing new.

BTW, did you ever see the documentary Zeitgeist?

I've seen the first and second.

I confess that I did not hate them.

even if I've seen them I would never admit that publicly.

You've seen them. And you liked them.

The rain scene at the end of the 2nd was pretty cool.

I disagree the country now or ever favored the rich (actually the opposite, I think it favors the poor). I disagree the country is turning to shit, except that it is becoming more socialist.

I had to google "Step Up". I think you are trolling, no one beyond the age of 13 could enjoy these movies. And even then, only gay 13 year olds.

economy is fucked and is getting worse. Yeah our poor people are fat. That doesn't mean the country doesn't favor the rich. If the economy is built on a house of cards it's only a matter of time before the rest of the country comes tumbling down.

There is no firm definition for "middle class", but a single person making $22k is pretty much universally regarded as middle class.

22k isn't even enough for a three bedroom apartment. how is that middle class? This article says 25k is where it pretty much starts.

Anyways that wasn't really my point.

Your tables show an income disparity, but I fail to see how that means that the country is set up to inherently favor the rich. I don't see the connection your are trying to make. I agree it is better to be rich than poor, but i don't see anything in your graph that suggests the system favors rich people. All of our tax laws are MUCH more oppressive for the rich than the poor.

Anyone can become rich, it is actually kind of easy in the overall scheme of things. I am not rich, but I don't pretend to work that hard at trying to become rich. If I were willing to do the things required to become rich, I have no doubt that I could become rich in a short period of time. But, I don't have the motivation.
