    OK, let's do this.

Soccer: Shaolin Soccer / Bend it Like Beckham.

Tennis: hmm.. don't have one. Only one coming to mind is Match Point. It was well-reviewed, but I hate Woody Allen movies.

Wrestling: I guess Win Win, if we don't count pro-wrestling.

Swimming: There's Pride, but I haven't seen it. Sounded kind of "generic sports movie"- ish.

    Diving: Already covered soccer.

Fencing: The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers. The good 70's versions with Michael York, not the more recent movies. En Garde was pretty good, though French.

    Polo: got nothin'.

I saw a decent made-for-TV tennis movie recently called When Billie Beat Bobby.

And Matchpoint was critically acclaimed, but I didn't really get into it. But I do love Woody Allen . . . not sure why you don't. Hannah and Her Sisters, Love and Death, Annie Hall, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Vicky Christina Barcelona, Melinda and Melinda . . . all great.

Million Dollar Baby was great. I finally saw the Fighter, I thought it was pretty good, but I think it is a little overrated. I forgot about those two. Also, the one with Russell Crowe and Paul Giamatti- I liked that one a lot, but can't remember the name of it. To me, "The Fighter" was pretty similar to that movie.

Will not see Real Steel unless the fate of the world depends on it.

Svino, you forgot VisionQuest, but all of those movies (that I have seen) suck pretty bad, which was my point. There are not a lot of good movies about fringe sports, unless the sport is just part of the story. I actually liked Win Win a lot though. Probably because I was a small town lawyer for much of my working career and also coached HS wrestling.

I don't like Woody Allen. I guess I just don't get his vibe. I think he is one of those guys you get or don't get, I don't get.

I am talking about a tennis movie that is really intensely about tennis. There has been some golf movies too, so add that to hockey, baseball, football, boxing.

You probably have to be naturally depressed, fearful of death, and generally confused by the apparent lack of meaning to life (and troubled by said lack of meaning) to really "get" Woody Allen. But if you are all those things, he's kind of like a prophet.

I am talking about a good movie with some budget. Not TV movies. All sports have some movies about them, but I am saying minor sports don't get big time movies very often.

Okay. I don't think a budget = movie quality. It was a low-budgeted, straight-to-DVD kind of thing, but I still enjoyed it, a lot more than I've enjoyed a lot of movies that cost $50M. And it's about a real-life event, the 1973 "Battle of the Sexes" between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. So if a tennis fan asked me to recommend a tennis movie I would tell them to check it out.

                    My hobby: answering rhetorical questions.

I was so disappointed by Million Dollar Baby. I thought it was half of a pretty good movie, and half of a painful chore to sit through.

With tennis, I forgot that there was a tennis movie called Wimbledon a few years back that was fairly well received. Haven't seen it though. There is also the live-action movie version of Prince of Tennis. I haven't seen it either, but as you can see from the poster, it must be awesome.

Yeah, maybe that's it. I think some comedians have a shtick that just doesn't work for you. For what it's worth, I did like "Sleeper", but so far that's the only one of his movies that didn't put me off in pretty much the same way.

Most of his mid-career movies were really dramedies, with the drama just as important as the comedy.

And his more recent films are largely straight-up dramas, in some cases dark dramas. This is especially the case for Match Point, Cassandra's Dream and Vicky Christina Barcelona. You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger was mostly a drama with a few jokes sprinkled in. Scoop was a comedy. Midnight in Paris was a light-hearted dramedy.
