After watching it without any distractions at BWW, I think Torres probably should have won too. Mighty Mouse got the TD in the 3rd and worked from the top, but Torres swept him into mount, a more dominant position, and was working for the sub for like 2 minutes. -
I wouldn't say that Torres got "royally screwed." It was a close fight. But I do think Torres won.
You can't let yourself be controlled like that, though. I do kind of agree with the logic that if you can't get up--if you are forced to stay where you are and can't determine where the fight goes--then you are losing except in rare circumstances. But with Torres's reversals, strikes from the bottom, and sub attempts I think he did enough to win.Leave a comment:

I figured they would as well... at least the SD and Junkie agree with us. It is a serious problem. You can't even bet on who you think will win the fight, you have to bet who the judges will give it to. It is just so retarded. Torres probably hurt himself by attacking so much. Johnson wasn't doing much, had Torres just laid there, he probably would ave gotten some stand ups.Leave a comment:

I agree, I had rd 2 a 10-10, I had Torres winning 1 and 3. But I knew the were givin it to Johnson.Leave a comment:

Just rewatched Torres/Johnson. Torres got royally screwed. He DEFINITELY won rounds 1 and 3. Round 2 was close, but he won Round 2 as well. Judging in MMA is so aweful.Leave a comment:

He has a fanbase and he fought in the IFL, EliteXC and Bodog before going on TUF. You can't pretend like he was on the same level, both in terms of skills and notoriety, as guys like Justin Wren or James McSweeney, who no one had ever heard of before the show.Leave a comment:

Who knows, but he's an ex-IFL champ, not your standard TUFfer. I figured that, like Kimbo, he had a special arrangement.Leave a comment:

How long was his TUF contract?
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson: $250,000 (no win bonus)
def. Matt Hamill: $32,000
Frank Mir: $250,000 (includes $125,000 win bonus)
def. Roy Nelson: $15,000
LOL at the disparity between these two fight salaries, what a jokeLeave a comment:

Wow, only $15K for Roy Nelson? I'm surprised he's working off of a standard TUF contract.Leave a comment:
