Was that in round one?
Let me go watch it again.
But I remember having a shitload of money on Fedor and having a shitload of worry after the first round. I actually thought the fight might get stopped when Rogers had Fedor against the cage and landed like 5 huge unanswered punches.
I swear Rogers won the round. I remember he was on top of Fedor and I was shitting my pants.Comment

Just watched the fights. Couple thoughts:
Cormier is almost a replica of Cain Velasquez. Really good striking, good chin, good cardio, great tdd, probably worse takedowns when it comes to mma. I think he's better than alot of the guys that were in the tournament and he could beat any of the 4 remaining. Not saying he would, but i'd give him a solid shot.
Oldereem looked like he just wanted to corner his brother.
Masvidal was pretty impressive. Noons got beat in every area. Part of the reason why his tdd looked so bad was because he became more reckless in the standup later in the fight in search of the ko.
Rogers is a ffight away from getting cut. Let lavar johnson knock his ass into retirement.
Overeem/Werdum was disappointing. Werdum had a good chance to win that fight if he didnt fall down after every punch. His striking isn't bad at all, he just doesn't have much confidence in it. Overeem had good tdd but absorbed shots to the chin in an effort to make sure he wasnt taken down. Should be an interesting match against big foot.Comment

The thing is that he DID look like he was quite nervous. I even saw him exhale at one point, like "Oh shit, here we go."
I think Rogers' confidence is shot. He was undefeated all the way up through his KO of AA. Not only undefeated, but he had won all of his fights (at least all of his fights that I saw) with relative ease. Then he has a competitive fight against Fedor but loses, loses again to Overeem, wins a really close and controversial decision against Villareal, and now he's lost yet again to Barnett.
He really needs to step down in competition. He's not ready for the big boys, at least not yet. He was fighting at about the right level when he was fighting guys like Abongo Humphrey.
If you looked at his face last night you could read it like a book: "This is it. You can do this. You deserve to be here. I am a top fighter." Nigga needs to go meditate and find his center or something.I heart cockComment

The other thing is that it is really hard to finish a guy when he keeps flopping down as soon as he gets in danger. It really wasn't Overeem's fault... it is hard to have offense when someone does that. Hell, even Anderson never really hurt Leites when he did it. It doesn't work in MMA, but it pretty good for avoiding damage.2012: +19.33
