Alabama -1½ vs. LSU (40): Friedman will be seated on the 50 yard line for the big daddy of them all, oozing with confidence that the Tigers will get a repeat win over the Crimson Tide. LSU is ready, very willing and able. They have a few tricks up their sleeve and Syl said once they get in front there will be no comeback for the Tide. LSU/OVER.
BCS Championship LSU over Alabama
LSU played the nation's toughest schedule with its opponents going 78-44 combined. Even more impressive, the Tigers beat six teams that have won bowl games by 13 points or more. Not much has changed since the first matchup with one exception -- the emergence of LSU freshman running back Kenny Hilliard, who exploded to score three touchdowns in the second half of a 42-10 win over Georgia. There are few significant edges for either squad in any of the specific matchups with the clear exception of special teams, which were crucial in the Tigers' 9-6 win at Alabama. Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron is more likely to make a critical mistake against LSU's dynamic secondary. With the edge in special teams, including the likelihood of a big return from the Honey Badger, a big game from Hilliard and a few mistakes from McCarron, I think LSU wins a 20-14, 23-16 type of game.
LSU +2.5 Over Alabama 20 Dimes
I think there is going to be a lot more scoring in this contest compared to the last meeting. Overall, I give the edge to LSU as they are a much more dynamic team. The Tigers can stretch the field and use their vertical passing game to generate points, or they can use their powerful ground game as they have multiple talented RB's. Also, the Crimson Tide can't forget about the most dangerous punt returner in the country in Tyrann Mathieu.
Prediction: 20-17 LSU
