                From This Week's PLATINUM SHEET

                STATFOX FORECASTER
                PITTSBURGH (307) AT BALTIMORE (308)
                Latest Line: Baltimore -3.0; Total:40.5

A bitter rivalry resumes Thanksgiving night when the Ravens host the red-hot Steelers. Pittsburgh has won three straight games by double-digits (13.0 PPG margin), producing a +7 turnover margin during the surge. Baltimore has won three straight ATS (2-1 SU), holding the Jets to 220 total yards in last week's 19-3 win. The Steelers kicked a last-second field goal to win 19-16 in their Week 7 meeting, making this series an even 9-9 SU (8-8-2 ATS) in the past 18 matchups. Since 2009, Ravens QB Joe Flacco has 12 TD passes and just 4 INT in this series, while Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger has only 7 TD and 6 INT.
                Forecaster: Baltimore 22, Pittsburgh 19

                STATFOX FORECASTER
TEXAS TECH (309) AT TEXAS (310)
                Latest Line: Texas -4.5; Total:66.0

The slumping Red Raiders come to Austin Thanksgiving night to face a Texas team that's beaten them four times in a row SU and three times in a row ATS. Tech has allowed 50.5 PPG during its four-game losing streak and turned it over 12 times. Both teams had last week off, and Texas is recovering from a 38-13 loss to Oklahoma State at home in its last game. When the teams met last November in Lubbock, Texas won 31-22 behind QB David Ash's three TD passes. Ash (concussion) is still out indefinitely.
Forecaster: Texas 34, Texas Tech 33

Oklahoma State over Purdue by 14
Anyone looking to gobble up those points with Purdue should beware the serious
guard talent on the OSU side with Markel Brown, Marcus Smart and Phil Forte. Matt
Painter will have to start limiting minutes if he wants to compete here because too
many Purdue players have been getting floor time during a season-opening run against
                          bums.

Butler over Washington State by 9
Defense, or toughness away from home, has not been a Washington State trait during
most of Mr. Bone’s tenure as head coach.
                          BUTLER, 70-61.

                          ***BEST BET
                          Memphis over Siena by 33
First-season head coach of Siena, Jimmy Patsos, has a team that’s probably in over its
head in this particular match-up. Their 5’9”, 165 point guard Evan Hymes turns the
ball over a lot, their guards don’t score much, their best rebounders aren’t very tall.
Memphis has too much length and talent for them to hang in there against, it would
seem. Shaq Goodwin isn’t a great player, but at 6’9”, 245, he is probably good enough
to look good in this particular matchup.
                          MEMPHIS, 96-63.

St. Joseph’s over LSU by 2
LSU’s scoring depth is kind of shallow. St. Joe’s plays better defense than their A-10
cousins of UMass, who beat LSU 92-90.
                          ST. JOSEPH’S, 76-74.

                          Villanova over USC by 27
Senior guard J.T. Terrell was recently ruled ineligible for USC. Even if they had him,
why USC’s current collection under a first-season head coach? ’Nova had a ‘down’ year
last season but even in a down year, they made the Big Dance and were good enough
to beat NCAA Tourney teams Louisville, Syracuse, Georgetown, Pittsburgh,
Marquette. Playing down to Delaware’s level last week suggests that Jay Wright’s crank was not deployed.
                          VILLANOVA, 88-61.

Kansas over Wake Forest by 20
Wake has not had a winning season or played in the post-season since 2009-10 – that’s way in the rear-view, isn’t it? If Kansas wants to pace themselves, the Demon Deacons can hang around. If.
                          KANSAS, 90-70.

                          Iowa over Xavier by 3
Fran McCaffery’s third season at Iowa is looking promising, since he likes to pressure
and appears to finally have enough depth to implement that style.
                          IOWA, 79-76.

                          Tennessee over UTEP by 8
UTEP has good length, but some of their skinny length can hide behind the Vols’ bigs
                          Jeronne Maymon and Jarnell Stokes.
                          TENNESSEE, 71-63.

Indiana transfer Maurice Creek is a scoring guard that GW desperately needed, but it’s
                          still a pretty young group.

                          UCLA over Nevada by 15
The Bruins were shooting better than 50% from the field very early in the season.
Nevada was getting only 8 assists per game after four games. Uh-oh. Will the Wolfpack
be one of those dreaded “low-assist” sides?
                          UCLA, 82-67.

                            2 UNIT = Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions - LIONS -6 (-110)
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 1.82 units)
Thanksgiving Day kicks off in Detroit with the 5-5-1 Packers taking on the 6-5 Lions. Green Bay is 2-3 on the road, while the Lions are 3-2 at home. Things have been going downhill for Green Bay since Rodgers was injured back at the start of November. Green Bay tied Minnesota >on Sunday, and had lost 3 straight prior to that game. Matt Flynn will be the 4th QB to start a game for Green Bay this year after he was successful completing 21 of 36 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown vs Minnesota in relief. The Lions hope to bounce back after two straight losses as favorites @Pittsburgh and Sunday at home vs Tampa Bay. The short rest should benefit them playing at home, even more so after a home game Sunday (no travel). Green Bay won the first meeting between these two teams 22-9, although Rodgers was starting at QB for the Packers that time around. I expect a much better effort from the Lions offense this time around at home on Prime Time. Note that the Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs NFC North opponents. The Packers are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games, and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall with Rodgers out. The Packers have given up 26+ points against in 5 straight games, and I don't think they'll be able to keep pace with the Lions early Thursday. Take Detroit to win by a touchdown or more at -6.
