    Friday's Play

The Cali-Cartel has a 50 Dime play on Central Florida at home against Tulsa. The Knights are -19 at the overwhelming majority of Vegas and offshore books I've checked as of 1:40 P.M. Eastern as I put my site live on Friday afternoon.

      FRIDAY

Top-Rated 500,000♦ play on Atlanta at home against Miami. The Hawks are -4 1/2 as of 2:35 PM here in Miami where I'm based.

I liked the Hawks -2 1/2 on the overnight line. I love them at -4 1/2 after D-Wade skipped the Heat's morning shootaround and said he was taking the night off because (surprise, surprise) he's hurt again, this time bothered by a hammy issue. For a Miami team struggling to score and coming off an 81-75 home loss to injury-riddled Indiana on Wednesday, that's music to my soul.

Atlanta is fresh off a 100-97 win against the Jazz on Wednesday that boosted its record to 3-0 at home. The Hawks had previously complete a nice little home and home sweep of the Knicks before tipping over Utah.

I like the way Jeff Teague and the Hawks are playing unselfish ball as they're averaging 23.9 assists per game so far. That crisp ball movement is giving guys a lot of open looks and that's reflected in the team hitting 40.8 percent of its three-point shots so far with Kyle Korver (26-for-47) leading the way. With Paul Millsap regaining his mojo (49 points the past two games after averaging 13.4 in the first five of the season), I'll ride the Hawks to a 4-0 start at home.

Not easy, but I like Atlanta 97-88.

                    WNBAPicks (CBB) - Minnesota U @ Louisville Over 141 (-108) Pinnacle

WE have selected a big game for College Basketball opening night, this should be a good one , its a also a clash between father/ son, Rick Pitino the Cardinals Coach will meet his son Richard here who is the Coach of the Golden Gophers, there will be a lot of points, I think there is also a good chance for a first big upset this season ,Minnesota is unranked but have a lot of potential, their dynamic duo Andre Hollins and Deandre Mathieu can score 50 combined very easy

The Louisville Cardinals will dominate the paint with Montrezl Harrell one of the best players in College Basketball, overall the Louisville Cardinals are not talented enough to win he ACC this year and will have problems against fast playing teams like the Golden Gophers, so we really like the over here, and if we had to choose a side it would be Minnesota plus the points , BUT the OVER is the play

                              VegasButcher (NBA 21-15 Overall)

                              Bucks

The Bucks are 3-1 ATS on the road, though they only have 1 actual road win. Orlando is coming off a road win @ NY, but that’s not really an upset as the Knicks are the 2nd worst team in the East only better than the despicable 76ers. Both teams are bottom-3 offensively, but Bucks have the superior defense, ranking #3 in DefEff, compared to #17 for Orlando. Both teams are on impressive ATS runs but being listed as a favorite for only the 2nd time this year, puts the Magic in ‘uncharted waters’. I think Milwaukee is a better team right now also.

                              Jazz

The Knicks are 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS at home. They’ve now lost 6 in a row, including teams like ORL and DET. Utah is playing their 4th straight road game, coming off a bad loss @ ATL, a game they frankly gave away. This team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 and playing hard. Tomorrow they face Toronto on the road to complete this 5-game roadie. With that being a b2b, 3in4, and 5th straight road game in 7 nights, that’s going to be a very tough spot for them. Not to mention that they’ll be facing a playoff team coming off a loss themselves. Tonight is their best chance to pick up another road win on this trip, and I like the chances of a strong effort out of them.

                              Celtics

The Celtics recently lost to OKC at home, a game that was sandwiched between Chicago and Cleveland. Was the game against OKC an anomaly, as the Celtics were looking-ahead to today? Hard to say, but after upsetting the Bulls in Chicago, Boston will try to do the same thing tonight against the Cavs. And at +5.5, they seem a bit undervalued here (shocker!). Both teams rank top-5 in OffEff and 26th in DefEff. I think we might see a strong effort from Boston, after a very disappointing one against the Thunder.

                              Pelicans

Thaddeus Young’s mother passed away so he won’t be available today. How is this going to effect the rest of his teammates emotionally? Hard to tell of course, but Wolves are a very young team so could hit them harder than a veteran laden squad. This team is already without Rubio, so that’s down two starters for them. Wiggins might have to take on more of a playmaker role, and he’s been pretty horrible to start out his career. His 8.4 PER ranks 46th out of 60 qualified SF’s, as he’s surrounded by guys like Prince, McDermott, and Kostas Papanikolaou (who?!? Exactly!) in the rankings. In addition, this is Minnesota’s 5th straight road game, having played in Mexico on Wednesday, and finishing the roadie @ Dallas tomorrow. Pelicans have been home since the 10th, and hit the road on the 17th @ POR, so they should be in a better physical shape. Pellies could have an easy win here potentially.

                              Spurs

Lakers have had a couple of competitive games in a row but they should be pretty overmatched against a Spurs team that seems to be getting back on track. San Antonio won against the Clippers and the Warriors in their last 2 games. They recorded a 61% AST-rate in those two games, while the Lakers were at 48% in their last 2 games, relying primarily on ‘hero ball’ from Kobe. Memphis scored 52 while Pelicans scored 60 PIP’s against LA in the last two games, and I’d expect to see the Spurs attack the paint tonight as well. Spurs tend to feast on teams that play zero defense and rely on ‘hero ball’, and we could see a very comfortable Spurs win tonight.

                                Friday NBA Bullet Points

                                Indiana -3 vs Denver (197)

These clubs split their two meetings last season. Both teams won by double digits on their HOME floor. The Nuggets are coming off back 2 back blow-out losses to Portland their L/2 games, including a HOME blow out loss their last game on Wednesday. These Nuggets are really struggling, as they have lost 6 straight games & failed to cover in all 6 games as well. Tonight is the Nuggets 1st game of their 4 day, 3 game East Coast roadie. The Pacers are coming off a quick 1 game roadie AT Miami on Wednesday. They defeated the Heat (81-75) as 8.5 pt dogs. The Pacers do travel to take on Eastern Conference rival Chicago tomorrow night. The Nuggets are just (1-7 ATS L/8) games playing on 1 day of rest, while the OVER has cashed in 4 straight when Denver is on just 1 day of rest. The underdog has cashed in 4 of the L/5 between these clubs. Fairly split action on this game (so far) & I have an EARLY lean to the Pacers side, here.

OKC Thunder -3.5 vs Detroit (189.5)

OKC won both meetings between these teams last season. However, the Pistons did play them very tough AT Detroit. They lost (112-111) as 14.5 pt dogs. Both meetings FLEW OVER the total. The Pistons are playing their 3rd game of their 4 game roadie tonight & are coming off a (107-103) loss AT Washington on Wednesday as 6 pt dogs. That was the 1st time this season that the Pistons have covered a game. The Thunder are back home off a quick 2 game roadie. They’re coming off a dominating win AT Boston on Wednesday (109-94) as 7 pt dogs. The Thunder are just (3-7 ATS L/10) following a double digit win & the OVER has cashed in 7 of 8 following an OKC double digit win. The Pistons are just (2-8 ATS L/10) playing on 1 day of rest. Some ‘very early sharp money’ is on the UNDER (for now) & I have an ‘early lean’ to the Thunder, here.

New York -4 vs Utah (192.5)

The Knicks won & covered both meetings between these clubs last season, including a blow-out (108-81) HOME win as 7 pt favs. These Knicks are really struggling right now, losers of 6 straight games & covering just 1 of those six games. They’re playing their 3rd game of a 4 game home-stand tonight & are coming off a (97-95) loss to the Magic on Wednesday. The Jazz are playing their 4th ROAD game in 6 days tonight. They’re coming off a (100-97) loss at the Hawks as 7 pt dogs on Wednesday. They do conclude their brutal 5 games in 7 days East Coast roadie tomorrow night in Toronto. The Jazz have covered 6 of L/7 following a SU & loss & when playing on 1 day of rest. The favorite has covered 5 of the L/6 between these clubs & the UNDER has cashed in 4 of the L/5 meetings. Fairly split action on this game (so far) & I don’t have a strong lean on this game (yet).
