I'm taking the points with Texas on Tuesday night. This one has a chance to be a classic letdown spot. Utah made it to the Pac-12 championship with a chance to capture a playoff appearance or an appearance in the Rose Bowl. But an ugly performance in the loss to Oregon has them settling for the Alamo Bowl. Utah HC Kyle Whittingham has had success in bowl games but Texas HC Tom Herman is 3-0 SU/ATS, winning all 3 outright as an underdog. Tough spot for the overvalued Utes and we'll do just what we did in the Pac-12 championship and play against them. I'm grabbing the points with Texas on Tuesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

Kentucky's offense has gained confidence over the last three contests, but I believe the Wildcats will meet their match in Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster's final game.

That streak may end here, but Kentucky's offense should keep on rolling.

The Over has also been profitable with both of these teams in nonconference games. Since 2014 it is 20-7 in Kentucky's and 17-10-1 in Virginia Tech's. Expect points and fun.

Every defense knows what is coming, but nobody has been able to stop Bowden. He'll go out in style with a win in Charlotte.

Yes, head coach Kyle Whittingham is great in bowl games (10-2 SU) but Texas head coach Tom Herman is 3-0 ATS in bowl games winning all 3 outright as an underdog. We think the Horns have a clear match-up edge with their WR’s Devin Duvernay and Collin Johnson vs a Utah defense playing without key DB’s Jaylon Johnson and Julian Blackmon.

Analysis: 1-star (255) Florida State +4 over Arizona State. 2:00pm ET. Arguably 3 of the top 4 offensive players will sit this game out in Arizona St RB Eno Benjamin (1,083 yards), Arizona St WR Brandon Aiyuk (1,192 yards) and Florida St RB Cam Akers (1,133 yards, 14 TD’s). FSU interim coach Odell Haggins will be on the staff next year so expect Mike Norvell to have some input whether he admits to it or not. On the other side, Arizona St head coach Herm Edwards will be without both his O.C. who he fired and his D.C. Danny Gonzalez who took the New Mexico head coaching job.

They literally are unable to sign replacement players because of the hard cap imposed by the D'Angelo Russell trade. Speaking of Russell, he, along with C Willie Cauley-Stein and F Kevon Looney, are out. G Ky Bowman may join them, but F Eric Paschall could play. Even given how well they've played of late, the Warriors' lack of depth makes them an easy target here.

While a player's word is not always a guarantee, it is at least enough to take the points in a game that, statistically speaking, should have a very different line.

LIBERTY BOWL -- These teams are similar to one another in a lot of ways. Both run the ball a lot, which will limit overall possessions and the amount of points they can score. Still, I don't like the total in this game, and instead I'm inclined to take Kansas State. This feels like a coin flip contest, so getting the points is hard to pass up. Plus, Kansas State is 6-2 ATS as a dog this season.

ALAMO BOWL -- The Tom Herman as an Underdog Principle is dead. Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. Texas is 0-5 straight up as a dog this season and only 2-3 ATS. Utah, meanwhile, is 11-2 straight up in bowl games under Kyle Whittingham and 9-4 ATS. They're also a much better team than they looked like against Oregon, and the Ducks are a much better squad than this Texas team. Lay it with the Utes.
