The Key: Hyun-Jin Ryu was a nice get for the Blue Jays this offseason. He went 7-3 with a 1.97 ERA in 15 starts in 2018 for the Dodgers and 14-5 with a 2.32 ERA last year. Ryu is 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 7 lifetime starts against Atlanta. Sean Newcomb has been rocked for an 8.22 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through 2 starts in 2020. Both starts were against the light hitting Mets. Now he has to deal with this talented, young Blue Jays lineup tonight. I like the price we are getting on the Blue Jays with their ace in Ryu taking the ball. Take Toronto.

As expected, the Penguins bounced back strong in Game 2 to knock off the Canadiens. This followed a Game 1 win for Montreal in which Carey Price stole the game. The veteran Habs netminder is indeed their star player. But the problem for the Canadiens is they don't have enough talent on the rest of their team to match up well with the Penguins. Lets not forget that the Habs were a #12 seed for this qualifying round so this is one of the biggest mismatches on the board and the Pens are starting to establish their will after a weak start in Game 1. Now the Pens take it up yet another notch for this crucial "swing game" in Game 3. Yes in a 5-game series that is tied at 1 game apiece Game 3 becomes critical. The only reason that the NHL is using these 5-game series again (for the first time since the mid-80s) is because of this special qualifying round for this season's playoffs. History in NHL shows that over 80% of the time in a 5-game series that is tied 1-1 the team that wins Game 3 goes on to win the series. In other words this game is critical. Both teams are aware of that fact of course but the Penguins are the team that can raise their game to the higher level. Simply too much talent for the Canadiens to match up with. That is why this is a #5 vs #12 match-up. The only thing keeping this off our official premium pick releases tonight is the higher price on the game as we think the price will also be rising as the day goes on. No team in the major leagues has allowed more runs than the Seattle Mariners, heading into Wednesday's slate of games.
Both the M's and the LA Angels are 6-4 to the over on the season, and I think we'll see enough action at the plate to push the final score over the posted total in this one.
Mariners' left-hander Marco Gonzalez (1-1, 2.53 ERA) was roughed up for four runs in 4 1/3 innings in his season debut. He looked a bit better last time out when he allowed two runs (no earned) in an 8-5 win over this very Halos team, but note the bloated final score. LAA should be able to get to him easier here the second time around in a short timeframe.
As for the Angels, they hand the ball to Julio Teheran for his debut for the Angels. Last season he was 10-11 with an ERA of 3.81 with Atlanta. While the Mariners' bats have been cold lately, I think they can get to Teheran early before he gets a chance to settle down.
