ORENCIA is my choice. This pick will feel the med change - with second time Lasix today. KONA KAI - She has been running very well and the Equibase speed figs are among the most respectable in this field. Looks formidable against this group of horses in this race and will probably be one of the leaders. LIGHTNING FIRE - Clearly will improve with change in blinkers (going on) today. Has longshot possibilities and could prove victorious at a big price.

OZETTE - Looking over this mare's PPs I see that the last time she tried this distance she got a speed figure that would be good enough to win today's event. Faced tougher last time around the track at Hawthorne. Based on Equibase class figures, this is a weaker bunch, so I will put this horse on my list of contenders. SENSE OF SELF - This filly has been trying different distances, but from the looks of things, she ran a nice speed rating last try at this trip. I seem to always make money betting Davis horses on the turf. That barn has a solid win percent for this distance/surface. In this race here, this thoroughbred has clearly shown signs that she likes the grass. Her speed figs are the highest in the field for this distance-surface. Ranks number one in earnings per race. A powerful effort in this race will boost that total. The racer with the top average class rating in turf events is usually a solid play. This horse fits the bill. Was in a $30,000 Maiden Claiming race at Fair Grounds last out. That clash had an Equibase class figure of 74 and she is moving down in today's race. A certain solid contender. LAURA ATTACK - I think the shorter distance will help this filly stay the trip. Horse's last race was at Arlington in a race with an Equibase class figure of 68. Dropping drastically in class rating this time puts her in a solid position in this event. I think this filly is ready to run a good one. She's had enough efforts since the layoff and should be fit.

SPEEDY RAE has a competitive shot to take this race. Has respectable Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a wager in this race. Lately Leech has provided players with a formidable winning percentage with horses moving in short races. Looks very good against this field and ought to be one of the leaders. BUBBLES KEEPER - Has to be carefully examined - I like the figures from the last contest. Has run admirably when running a short race.

NATURALLY QUICK - Last race at Monmouth Park, she broke from the far outside. I don't need an advanced degree like The Brain to tell me her inside draw today should help. Taking a big class drop in class rating points from her Aug 2nd race at Monmouth Park. Based on that valuable data, I will give this animal the advantage.

CHIC BELLA - Doesn't look inspiring to me after the lack of any sort of closing talent on Jun 19th. Common speed figure last out at Belmont Park at 6 furlongs. Don't think this horse will improve too much in today's race. HIGHRHYTHMDIXIE - That was just not a very good showing in the last race. MINEWELLRECEIVED - Hard to recommend this one out of the one slot. Hasn't run well out of there.
