Thursday 9/10/20 Free Plays / Trends / Betting Info / Etc
My free MLB play is on the Angels on the run line against the Rangers, as the two American League West rivals close out their three-game set. The Angels lost the first two games of this series, but they also arrived to Arlington riding a five-game win streak.
Bottom line is I like Dylan Bundy over Kyle Gibson.
Anyone paying attention knows Bundy has been the Angels' most consistent starter this season, as he's 4-2 with a 2.49 ERA after eight starts. He is averaging 6.1 innings per start, never going less than 5.1. He was solid his last time out, silencing the Astros in what was his longest start since Aug. 11.
I suspect he'll get plenty of run support, considering the Rangers turn to Gibson, who is 0-4 with a 6.97 ERA in four home starts. The Texas right-hander is also 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA in three career starts against the Angels.
My free MLB play for tonight is out of the American League Central, as I'm laying the run line with the Cleveland Indians against the Kansas City Royals.
When I look over the complexion of the American League right now, I have to say the one team I think is lurking in the shadows, and that poses a threat to the rest of the junior circuit.
They've crept up the A.L. Central and sit one game back of frontrunning Chicago. This is a perfect spot for the Indians to end a mini two-game slump, against a Royals team that had no business winning two straight. Kansas City has still lost seven of 10, and is 9-15 on the road.
The Royals are handing the ball to Brady Singer, who is 1-4 with a 5.58 ERA this season, and the Indians will take advantage.
Thursday's free play winner on the Phillies and the Marlins to head Over the posted total.
These teams are now scrambling to end the regular season as both missed playing time earlier this season when the Marlins tested positive for COVID.
This is actually the start of a 7 game series and the Phillies will have to play 4 doubleheaders over the next 13 days.
Jake Arrieta and his 5.67 ERA takes to the mound tonight and his club has landed Over the total in 3 of their last 4 games.
Miami is fresh off allowing the most runs ever in their franchise history. In case you missed it, the Marlins dropped a 29-9 decision last night in Atlanta to the Braves.
The Marlins are now 4-1-1 Over the total for their last 6 games played.
Sandy Alcantara will go for the home team tonight. The Marlins bullpen got beat up pretty bad last evening, while the Phillies bullpen rates among the worst in all of baseball.
I have a feeling the start of this 7 game series is going to see some runs recorded.
