Rotation #458
Texans +2 over Patriots
Texans/Patriots Over 48.5
The Texans have the worst defense in the NFL. There is no doubt Bill Belichick will find ways to put points on the board. This New England team is flawed. I know the general public thinks they are back after beating Baltimore last Sunday Night, but the conditions in that game were brutal. This game today is indoors and I believe the Texans Offense is going to have a field day. New England just doesn’t have a healthy front seven on defense. The Texans have so many talented skill players that should be able to get open. New England has a great secondary, but it’s only as good as the protection they get up front. The entire Patriots defensive line is out or on the injury report today. and the linebackers are banged up as well. DeShaun Watson is going to be a nightmare to slow down today with his duel threat ability. Take the Texans and the Over.

Houston has played a little bit better under interim head coach Romeo Crennel, but the fact remains that Houston's only two wins have come against the lowly Jaguars. The Patriots got a huge home win over the Ravens last Sunday night that could very well give them momentum here. The Patriots run the ball very well with Cam Newton, Rex Burkhead, and Damien Harris. That doesn't bode well for a Texans defense that ranks dead-last in the NFL in Rush Defense DVOA. They also have a league-low five takeaways. While Houston doesn't defend the run well at all, they also don't run the ball very well themselves. Houston ranks dead-last in Rush Offense DVOA, so they rely on the arm of QB Deshaun Watson. One-dimensional offenses don't normally fare too well against a Bill Belichick defense.

If you just look at this game as Aaron Rodgers versus Philip Rivers, then I guess you can't place a Packers bet fast enough. But Rodgers isn't going against Rivers, but rather a very tough Colts defense. The Packers offense has been inconsistent against top defenses, scoring 37 points in New Orleans but only 10 points in Tampa Bay. The Colts D ranks 4th in both Rush Defense DVOA and Pass Defense DVOA.
The Colts offense is producing pretty well, scoring 31 points or more in three of its last four games. The Packers defense is average overall, so I expect the Colts to put up enough points to get the W.
