The Indiana Pacers are trying to make a run at the playoffs here late in the season. They can't afford to lose games like this to the Orlando Magic. The Magic have lost three straight games by double-digits and by a combined 71 points coming in. They just don't have much talent left on their roster after trading away their three best players before the deadline. Give me the Pacers.

Memphis opened the season 2-6 but over the next three-plus weeks, won SEVEN in a row, while six games during that time frame were postponed due to COVID. Memphis was just 18-20 through March 19 but enters this game with the Knicks at MSG having won EIGHT of 11, including four straight. The Grizzlies are currently 26-23 (No. 8 seed), FIVE games ahead of the No. 11 seed (seeds 7-10 qualify for the NBA's "Play-In" tournament). The 25-27 New York Knicks are playing meaningful games in April for the first time in nearly a decade, as like the Grizzlies, they are a no. seed and FIVE game ahead of the East's No. 11 seed.
Memphis heads to New York averaging 122.8 points during a four-game winning streak and that's with leading scorer Ja Morant (18.8 & 7.4 APG) averaging just 12.0 PPG during the winning streak. Brooks (16.3) and center Valanciunas (16.3 & 12.4) are both having strong seasons in support of Morant, with Valanciunas averaging 18.5 & 11.0 during the team's four-game winning streak. The veteran center has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in 19 straight games!
The Knicks have lost FIVE of six, squandering a 14-point lead in a 114-112 loss at Nets on Monday and then losing 101-99 at Boston on Wednesday. New York's Julius Randle (22.9-10.7-6.0) is having an excellent season (is anyone outside of NYC aware of that) and RJ Barrett (17.5 & 5.9) has likewise 'flown under the radar.' However, in the team's last game, New York's other three starters, Bullock, Noel and Payton combined for just 21 points.
Morant is bound to regain his scoring touch and it's probably been good for Memphis that Wednesday marked the THIRD different leading scorer for the Grizzlies in their winning streak. Memphis has a much deeper team and the Knicks are seemingly "feeling the pressure" with a chance to earn their first playoff berth since 2013 Memphis makes it FIVE wins in a row!

I will take my chances with the Astros cashing in a win at home against the A's on Friday. It's really early in the 2021 season, but Houston has made quite a statement against the defending AL West champs. The Astros opened the season by sweeping a 4-game series at Oakland, outscoring the A's 35-9 in the process. It was more of the same when the two teams opened a 33-game series at Houston last night, as the Astros won that game 6-2.
It's night and day when comparing the two offenses of these teams early on. Oakland can't get anything going, as they are averaging just 2.4 runs/game, while hitting .168 as a team thru their first 7 games. Houston on the other hand is averaging 7.5 runs/game and hitting .297 as a team in 6 games.
Both starters for today's game faced the opposing team in that 4-game set in Oakland. Sean Manaea of the A's gave up 5 runs on 6 hits (2 HR) and 3 walks in just 4 2/3 innings of a 2-9 loss. Lance McCullers of the Astros allowed just 1 run on 2 hits in 5 innings. Oakland has lost 11 of Manaea's 15 career starts against Houston, while the Astros are 8-3 in McCullers 11 starts vs the A's. Give me the Astros -165!

The Charlotte Hornets continue to play well despite battling through some injuries. They have gone 6-3 SU & 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. Now they are rested and ready to go playing just their 2nd game in 5 days and relishing the opportunity to face the Milwaukee Bucks tonight.
While the Hornets will be fresh, the Bucks will be running on fumes. They will be playing the 2nd of a back-to-back and their 3rd game in 4 days after a loss in Dallas last night. All five starters played more than 29 minutes against the Mavericks. It was their sixth straight road game out West, and now they head back home for this contest with the Hornets.
I always like fading teams in that first game back home after a long road trip. And it's worth noting that Giannis Antetokounmpo sat out the past two games with a knee injury and is questionable to return tonight. They shouldn't even be 9-point favorites if he plays given the tough spot, and it would be an added bonus if he doesn't.
The Hornets are 3-0 ATS in their last three meetings with the Bucks, including an 126-114 outright upset as 9.5-point dogs in their lone meeting this season. Charlotte is also 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings. Milwaukee is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games following a loss. Bet the Hornets Friday.
