The Key: The Cincinnati Reds are flexing their muscle at the plate in the early going with the OVER going 5-1 in all Reds' games this season. They have scored 5 or more runs in all 6 games this season and are averaging 9.5 RPG. So they are more than capable of covering this OVER on their own. But they should get plenty of help from the Diamondbacks, who crushed Tyler Mahle for 5 runs in 4 2/3 innings in his lone lifetime start against them. The Diamondbacks have an awful staff that has yielded 7 or more runs in 5 of their 7 games this season. Take the OVER.

Hard to see the Ducks trying to get into a shootout here. The only way to keep this game competitive is by doing what the Ducks do, play good defense and shorten the game. Colorado has been dominating everyone, but have a feeling this game isn't being circled.

Friday NHL Free play. My selection is on Vegas -1.5 goals over Arizona at 10:05 pm et on Friday.
I like the way this one sets up for the Golden Knights as they return home off a 3-1 loss in St. Louis on Wednesday. Note that Vegas checks in 8-1 off a road loss against a division opponent over the last three seasons, outscoring the opposition by an average margin of 2.3 goals. The Knights are also 11-2 off a road loss by two goals or more over the last two seasons, outscoring opponents by 1.3 goals per game in that situation. This is the fourth stop of a long road trip for the Coyotes and they've had some success, taking three of the first five games. Note that they're averaging just 2.1 goals per game after consecutive games that totaled seven goals or more over the last two seasons. The Golden Knights average 3.4 goals per game here on home ice this season and I look for them to turn in a strong performance at both ends of the rink on Friday night. Take Vegas -1.5 goals (8*).

The Sharks are coming off a loss to Anaheim, and here is what I said prior to that game: "San Jose is one of the hottest teams in the league right now, coming into tonight's home game against the Ducks as winners of four straight, while the Ducks are losers of three in a row. Anaheim has a firm grip on last place in the West Division, and the Ducks are 3-8 in their last 11 road games. The Ducks rank 29th in the NHL in scoring, and their power play has been brutal, converting on just over 10 percent of their man advantage opportunities. Martin Jones might be the Sharks best player this season, and he's been particularly good lately. He is 6-3-1 with a 2.69 GAA at home this season." They will look to get back on track tonight at home versus the Kings, and they have won four of their last five home games against LA. The Kings are 8-20 in the last 28 head to head meetings.

The set-up: I think the home side is worth the price of admission in thi sone. The Kings broke a three-game slide with a win over the Coyotes last time out, but LA's offense has still scored two goals or less in seven of of its last ten games (the Kings' defense has also struggled, conceding three goals or more in seven of their last ten games.
The pick: The Sharks had their four-game win streak snapped in a 5-1 loss to the Ducks last time out. San Jose though has scored three or more goals in four of its last five games. The Sharks are also 4-1 in their last five at home. Consider San Jose on Friday night.
