I like the value we are getting on the Cleveland Indians tonight as home underdogs to the Tampa Bay Rays. The Indians have gone 6-3 in their last nine games overall with two one-run losses to get to 48-45 on the season.
Cal Quantrill is pitching his best ball of the season right now, too. He has gone 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA and 1.225 WHIP in his last three starts for the Indians. Quantrill held the Rays to 2 earned runs in 5 1/3 innings to get the win in a 7-2 victory in his lone career start against them.
Luis Patino should not be getting this kind of respect from oddsmakers. He is 0-2 with a 5.87 ERA and 1.370 WHIP in four starts this season and averaging just 3.8 innings per start. That includes 0-1 with a 9.35 ERA and 1.848 WHIP in two road starts this season.
The Rays are 3-11 in their last 14 road games, including 0-4 in their last four games as road favorites. Bet the Indians Thursday.

I'll take my chances here with Cleveland as a decently priced home dog against the Rays on Thursday. Tampa Bay is getting way to much respect in this spot. Josh Fleming is going to start for the Rays and it's been a struggle of late for him. He's got a 8.66 ERA and 1.586 WHIP in his last 3 starts. He's given up at least 5 runs in each of those outings. In total he's given up 17 runs on a staggering 25 hits with just 8 Ks over 17 2/3 innings.
Cleveland's Cal Quantrill has a poor 5.69 ERA and 1.421 WHIP in 9 starts, but has been much better of late. In his last 3 starts, Quantrill has posted a 3.86 ERA and 1.225 WHIP, giving up just 7 runs in 16 2/3 innings. Give me the Indians +121!

While Kim has allowed zero HR's his past five starts, Alzolay has served up eight of them, his past five. On the season, Alzolay is 1-6 with a 4.89 ERA on the road. Overall, the Cubs are 19-32 on the road while the Cards are 27-20 at home. Really, this line could easily be higher. Consider St. Louis.
