You wouldn't think that a Thursday night game in early March against the lowly Flyers would be a big one for the Wild but make no mistake, it is. Minnesota limps into this game on the heels of four straight losses and six defeats in its last seven games. Here, we'll note that the Wild are 13-2 after losing five or six of their last seven games over the last three seasons, outscoring opponents by 1.4 goals on average in that spot. Better still, they're 12-1 after giving up 4+ goals in consecutive games over the last two seasons and a perfect 7-0 when following up consecutive losses by 3+ goals, which is also the case here. The Flyers are of course going nowhere and check in a miserable 9-19 on home ice this season, outscored by an average margin of 0.8 goals. While they are just one game removed from a 2-1 win over Washington, they've scored a grand total of three goals over their last three contests. Take Minnesota.

The Brooklyn Nets are getting too much respect due to Kevin Durant making his much anticipated return tonight. He isn't going to make that much of a difference in his first game back, and he will be on a minutes restriction. The problem for the Nets is that the players around him aren't very good since Kyrie Irving still can't play in home games. The Heat are the superior team by far with the best record in the East. They will be playing with a chip on their shoulder after blowing a 14-point lead in the 4th quarter to the Bucks last night and losing by one. This is a deep Heat team too so I'm not concerned that they will be playing the second of a back-to-back. The Heat are 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven games as road favorites. Miami is 8-2-1 ATS in its last 11 games off a loss. The Nets are 6-21-1 ATS in their last 28 home games. Give me the Heat.

I'll take my chances with the Nets as a home dog against the Heat on Thursday. I just think the price is too good to pass up with Brooklyn. The Nets will be getting back Durant for this game. Sure he might be on a minutes restriction, but just his presence is going to really give this team a spark.
On the flip side, this is far from an ideal spot for the Heat, who just played a heck of a game on the road against the Bucks, which they came up painfully short 119-120. Milwaukee to Brooklyn overnight is no easy travel and while Durant playing is exciting, there's still no Kyrie or Simmons.
I actually think Miami could be more excited for Saturday's big home game against the new look 76ers. Either way, I think the value is clearly with the Nets as a home dog in this one. Give me Brooklyn +2.5!
