Cool, man. Thanks. That's nice to hear. It may not look like it, but that little minute-and-a-half clip represents about 9 hours of work.
But yeah, no dialogue. Most of the film is actually silent and then I went back in and added an ambient noise track as well as most of the sound effects. The sound of the door closing, the first set of footsteps, the sound of the keys, the sound of the bottle and remote being put down on the table, and the typing on the keys were all re-recorded later and synched up in the editing.
Thanks. I have actually been watching a shitload of films lately and paying a lot of attention to how good directors compose their shots, mix in static camera with moving camera, and edit it all together.
I'm afraid not. She's actually pretty conservative. 25 and married and the only guy she's ever slept with is her husband. That kind of thing.I heart cockComment

They can direct those deer wherever they want with those signs, like maybe a school crosswalk would be a safer place for them. I about lost My shit when she said that.2013: +8.24u(increased unit size on 5/19)

I am pretty sure Rotten Tomatoes lets anyone with a blog be a critic. There are some pretty ridiculous reviews on there sometimes by people who obviously haven't watched the movie or are just trying to get page views by saying something stupid. Then they have "Top Critics" who are actual real critics for actual publications. If you compared the Top Critics on RT to Metacritic, it would probably be about the same.
That said, unless a movie is overwhelming one way or the other, critic scores don't really mean much to me. I have found that if it is somewhere in the middle, taste comes into play a lot.2012: +19.33

I do pay attention to the Metacritic score though and it does influence whether or not I go see a lot of movies. If it's a movie where I'm kind of on the fence about it and it's got a metacritic score of 45 or something, I'll probably wait for DVD. On the other hand if it's pulling a 75 then I'll probably go ahead and go.
Then there are movies where I don't really give a fuck what the score is. I'm going.I heart cockComment

Argo, on the other hand, is getting raves. I saw it last night and it is indeed a really good movie. I was never a Ben Affleck fan until he started directing . . . but the dude knows how to direct a movie.

Though I was kinda disappointed to find out it's not a version of the Argonautica. Someone should (re)make that movie.Comment
