Sonnen's trash talk has really fucked up this line. If he stayed quiet, he would be at like +450, but instead he is at +330ish and I don't want to bet on him there.

I've been waiting patiently for him to hit +400.
With the countdown show now out, I don't think it is going to happen.
he won't because people are being pulled in by the trash talk. What I can't understand is why the fuck he didn't talk this much when he was fighting Marquardt.

Because he knew about this forum and wanted to fuck us up.
Chael is just one of those guys who knows this is his lifetime achievement right in front of him. His mental toughness is going to be out of this world on august 7. On the other hand this is just another fight and title defense to Anderson. This is one of those title fights that has a weird X factor to it. We've never seen a champion defend this long, and Anderson is getting older. I just smell something unexpected is going to happen. I Know it wasn't a title fight but Shogun vs Griffin had a weird feeling because of the hype and foregone conclusion that Shogun would literally walk right through the UFC's propped up poster child.
I still think Chael is the same fighter he has always been.
He is on a 3 fight win streak, so what.
I find it implausible that he suddenly made a vast improvement in his game at 35 years old and after 30 fights while training with the same guys and working part time. Nothing has changed except the UFC is marketing him now. I don't even think Chael would beat most of the top 10 MW's. He just got ragdolled and subbed by Maia last year. A half drunk Paulo Filho submitted him not long ago. Sonnen had the fortune of fighting 2 wrestlers with poor striking and then had a nice showing against Marquart. Still he has went to a decision against every single top 30 fighter he has ever faced. He has NEVER stopped a quality opponent (you could maybe argue Suluev is top 30). He has zero power, zero submission skill... he is going to have wrestle-rape Silva for 25 minutes.
I actually think Silva has value @ -400. Sonnen is all hype. The UFC is good at making you believe guys who have no chance can win, after watching the Primetime shows, I sort of considered believing that Hardy had a chance against GSP. Sonnen is going to get KO'd in the first round.
That said, I hope he wins. It would give Maia the title shot soon and he would become champ (I would take Maia to -250 over Sonnen).
Speaking of marketing....how did Anderson all of a sudden become so dangerous with subs? Was it because he subbed Dan, who basically gave up and gassed. Or maybe it was Lutter, who submitted because he was gassed, and was getting elbowed to his dome. I seriously doubt Chael gasses after the first round and gives up. For Anderson to get a sub, he is going to have to sink something in on a fresh fighter, something he really has never done.
At some point fighters just need to get credit for recent performances. GSP was an underdog to Hughes in their rematch because some people still thought GSP was the same fighter that fought Hughes the first time. Judging from recent performances, Chael seems to have matured a bit as a fighter, and Siva seems to be just going through the motions...kinda like Fedor was.
