yeah the arm tied up stuff ruined it for me. Actually, I just thought the whole thing was dumb and over the top. The only thing that rang true is how these old school bjj guys respect their rank more than a win or a title. So the redbelt (which Inosanto who played the Helio Gracie character) was the true prize for his display of character... but that too was so ridiculous and over the top... basically, I did not care for it in any way except for the Al bundy cameo (Al Bundy is a real life blackbelt).2012: +19.33

Well he got it at least 5 years ago... but there are basically 2 classes of blackbelt in bjj. The regular kind and the teaching kind. You earn a black belt (or any rank really) by a combination of technical ability, time in training, and rolling ability. So while Al probably can't hang with the 25 year old black belts, my guess is that he would still beat me... You don't know this until you train, but bjj doesn't really require a lot of speed or strength. I said before, there is a 135# 60 year old guy at my gym. He is a brown belt, but he can beat me (I am 200# of sexy white muscle fiber).Originally posted by Luke2012: +19.33
