Yeah, but you're a cynic about everything.

I remember thinking the Karate Kid was fucking awesome when I was a child and it inspired me to want to do martial arts. Its charm has somewhat worn off over the years, but I still watch it from time to time, and it's good nostalgic fun. As a matter of fact, I intend to go Part II here in a few because I haven't seen that one in years.

BTW the new one is really dissimilar from the original.

I've never seen the original Karate Kid so I dont know if it was good or not.

I'm just surprised it beat out a A-Team . I thought it was suppose to be the big movie of the summer

No I just like GOOD movies.

I like movies that entertain me on any level. There are plenty of movies that I like that are certainly not Oscar contenders, but I enjoyed them.

The Craft
Whip It
Bring It On
Antitrust
A Whole Bunch of Van Damme Movies

You could make an argument for these not being "good movies" for one reason or another, but it doesn't change the fact that I liked the shit out of them.

Yeah, I don't get it. But somehow it seems that the more ass that he kicks, the more he transforms into a vagina.

I mean, he even fights in a DEATH MATCH in the second film, but the third he's probably an even bigger pussy than ever!

I also noticed that every film in the series follows the same storyline: Daniel-san is a nice guy, he gets bullied by mean karate guys, Mr. Miyagi finally decides to train him to beat the mean karate guys (often involving some secret technique), and Daniel-san kicks everyone's ass.
