2010 Off topic thread(basketball,movies,etc whatever)
Re: Off topic thread(basketball,movies,etc whatever)
The Exorcist. . .
I actually bought it on Blu-Ray today. It's perhaps the most beautiful disc set I've ever see: Custom case. Two discs with two versions of the movie and a boatload of special features. Accompanying booklet. Pseudo-handsigned note from the director. . .
I don't often spend $30 on a movie, but I feel like this was a worthwhile purchase.

I don't care for horror flicks, but the exorcist was/is awesome.
I just picked up season 4 of Dexter friday, so I am watching that right now. I know it is already into the 5th season, but I like to watch my shows back to back, I don't like waiting a week. I do the same thing with my DVR, I will let it record the entire season before I start watching (Sons of Anarchy is clogging up like 25% of my DVR right now).
Dexter is a great show, btw. There have only been a few series that I truly enjoyed the entire time, and Dexter is one of them.

Dexter is awesome. A friend of mine gave me a disc with the first season on it a while back and I took like a year and a half to actually watch it, but once I did I was hooked. It's definitely on my short list of favorite series, along with Spartacus.
I think Dexter is starting to go off the rails a little in the later seasons, though. . .
Re: Off topic thread(basketball,movies,etc whatever)
I am about half way through season 4... to me Season 2 was the best, but I like season 4 so far. As far as going off track, that happens. Most shows only have about 5 or 6 seasons in them. Any longer than that, and you have to do some stupid shit to keep it afloat. Sopranos started to run its course as well around season 4 (though season 6 was awesome).
I have started to like these series more than movies now. I used to be a total movie buff before I had kids, they don't really get my attention like they used to.
Re: Off topic thread(basketball,movies,etc whatever)
I thought Dexter peaked at Season 3. I won't give you my thoughts on 4 until you finish it. And 5 is starting out shaky, in my opinion.
I think the quality of original programming on TV has increased dramatically. We're also seeing a lot of big name stars on TV now, whereas 10 years ago it was considered a career death knell for a film star to cross over to TV.
