I don't know anything about him, but his grappling is really basic, like a guy that watched the moves but didn't have very many reps in. Not knocking him, but compared to the wrestlers and Royce, he was way behind in any one area. But I was more just marveling at how much just a little bit of well roundedness could get you back then (and for self defense).
I actually used to have an RBWI video series and Jennum was in it. When I saw it, I was like holy shit, that's Steve Jennum! And it was. He was there, basically getting beat up on by Robert Bussey.
Bussey is a pioneer, and really something of a legend, in martial arts. He originally trained in traditional ninjutsu, and even went to Japan to train. He then took this traditional base and updated it, adding in techniques from other martial arts and taking a more "modern" approach in general. His system that Jennum trained in wasn't heavily oriented toward grappling, but there would've been some basic stuff like hip tosses and armbars.I heart cockComment

While we're on a boxer -BJJ match........ most boxers wouldnt stand a chance of ever being a good MMA fighter cause for the most part they have chicken legs. Even people like Holyfield who has a massive neck and torso has chicken legs . They are built to move for 12 rounds not takedowns. I think Mike Tyson would have had a chance though he had huge ,thick legs (no homo)2015 MMA BETTING CHAMP
