Barry is literally the worst grappler in the UFC IMO. Maybe he can avoid the takedown though, I don't think Kongo's wrestling is any better than Beltran's. I actually like Barry here tbh. Kongo is also a small HW, he may have trouble keeping him down.

Agreed. Need to look at it, but Weidman is probably my play here. He is a stud grappler and has the wrestling to get it there. Bongfelt's main bag is grappling. Bongfekt has the experience... but Weidman is just better IMO.2012: +19.33

Based on getting submitted by 2 shitty grapplers in Hague and CroCop. If he is getting tapped by non-grapplers, I don't why he would do better against someone who can actually grapple. For god sakes, he tapped out to a "rear naked choke" from CroCop and CroCop did not even have 1 hook in... he just jumped up there and grabbed his neck. I mean, that's terrible. Also based on the grappling vid Poopoo posted of Barry looking horrible against fat amateurs in a local tourney... not even a regional tourney. It is embarrasing. You can say, well he is a striker. Fine, but I cannot think of a single UFC fighter, even some of the "pure grapplers" that would lose in a novice division in a local boxing or kickboxing tournament.2012: +19.33

Pat Barry is a good striker and all too, but people act like he is some K1 phenomenon. He didn't do too great in K1 against (less than) mediocre competition. I like Pat Barry and would like to see him do well, but I just don't think it's going to happen.Comment

I said I thought Barry would win... but I need to look at the Beltran fight again. Does Barry shrug off the clinch? Kongo is going to clinch the shit out of him and he may gas Barry out. That said, Kongo is small, so I wouldn't be surprised if Barry gets right up even if he is taken down. He can give his back to Kongo with immunity since Kongo is not a submission threat. I really don't know how bog a role the takedown will be. I think the clinch is more of a factor.
Kongo can win by fence pressing and the standup is probably pretty close. Barry has to keep his distance and out strike him. I am going to flip flop here and go with Kongo who has more outs. But I would not be surprised to see Barry kick Kongo's chicken legs out from underneath him and win. BUt then you have to factor in the standard point deduction for nut shots from Kongo too... tough fight to cap IMO.
High5 says Kongo though... what do you know? YOu can't in in here and drop that nugget and leave no rationale. why is Kongo worth 10u?
Damn, that is a hard fight to call.2012: +19.33

Well, Kongo doesn't like to get hit at all imo. After the Mir fight, I don't even think he tried to strike with Buentello for a minute. In the Browne fight, he went straight into clinch mode for the rest of the fight. I actually really like Kongo to win this fight. I kind of this if Barry gets off first and hurts Kongo with some strikes, Kongo is going to fold and start aiming for the nuts. I do think Kongo will initiate the clinch a lot and try to drag it down to the ground. Barry will probably get tired by halfway through the 2nd if Kongo plans on fence fucking him.
Just an "out there" thought... I think the draw prop might be worth a real small bet. I can definitely see a tied round or a 10-8 round due to Kongo's love of kneeing people in the nuts, holding their shorts repeatably, etc.Comment
