KANSAS CITY CHIEFS -4

The Chiefs are the best team in football right now if you go by just the standings. I find it very hard to believe that an 8-0 football team is going to fly into Buffalo and lose to a team that is now on its 3rd string quarterback. Buffalo is going to throw a backup into the fire against this pro bowl like Chiefs Defense. There is a lot of upside in Buffalo this year, but key skilled players are being bothered by injury right now and this offense is getting blown up by the defenses they face. Kansas City does not wow you with their offensive production, but they are the much better team on both sides of the ball. I don’t think they are looking ahead to the Broncos next week. The Chiefs need to win today because the schedule is about to get real tough. You need every win on the board you can get. Buffalo just does not have the man power or offensive flow to win this game. Take the Chiefs.

DALLAS COWBOYS/MINNESOTA VIKINGS OVER 49.5

The Dallas Cowboys were beat up and down the field last week in Detroit. The Lions Offense beat themselves with silly turnovers or really could have put up 60 points last week. This Dallas Secondary is a complete mess with injuries and I think the Vikings will put up points today and have a shot to pull an upset. Minnesota has a big physical offensive line that will attack a Cowboys Defensive Line that is missing key pass rushers. Dallas should have no problem putting up points against this very weak Minnesota team. The Cowboys are getting healthier on offense and really Minnesota has done nothing to stop teams all season. Both teams have major secondary issues so I see receivers being open all day. Also keep your eyes on the special teams. Two of the best returners this season are on both sides of the ball. Short fields are welcomed today in going for a ton of points. Take the Over.

TENNESSEE TITANS -3

The Titans are coming off their bye getting guys healthy while the Rams are on a short week and really have no answer at quarterback. Last week Kellen Clemens looked like he had no idea where receivers were running. This Rams running game is also banged up and I just don’t see them beating a quality football team like Tennessee. The Rams last week were able to get to Seattle because of a make shift offensive line, that will not be the case today and the Titans protect the QB pretty well. Tennessee is just better on both sides of the ball and should roll today. Take the Titans.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS -1

The Redskins Defense has not been performing up to their capabilities this year. This is a unit that is pretty much the same from last year with great linebackers and who could create turnovers. For some reason or another they have not performed well, but I think they will bounce back from the Denver loss last week and get a home win. Last week the Skins had issues in their secondary with suspension and injury, but now are healthy today. This is an early start for a west coast team and I think RG3 is getting better each week. When he has fresh legs he is tough to contain. The Skins matchup better on both sides of the ball and that is why I like them at home today. Take nothing away from the Chargers. Rivers is having a great season I just think Washington is in a good spot today in their own building. Take the Redskins

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES +1.5

The Eagles offense has looked poor the last two weeks, but they were not healthy at quarterback. We know Foles can run this offense because we have seen him do it before. With all the talk about the Eagles lack of offense it must be noted that this defense is starting to really come around. Oakland is improving and they play a college football style run game with the quarterback, but that only lasts so long in the NFL. Pryor does not scare me throwing the ball and the real key for this game is that banged up Raiders Offensive Line. They have starters and backups out. If any of them go down today they might have to put guys from the defensive line in the game. I think the Eagles Offense will get back on track against a defense in Oakland that has not played together as a unit for that long. It will be interesting to see how they communicate against a complex offense like Philadelphia’s. Oakland is getting too much love while the Eagles are betting bashed for not putting up 60 a game with Chip Kelly. I think the public is fooled today. Take Philly.

HOUSTON TEXANS -1.5

The Colts come into this game with a major injury at receiver losing Wayne for the year. In practice Hayward Bay hurt his hamstring so he is not 100 percent coming into this game. The Colts have decent 3rd and 4th string receivers, but are they ready to step into the spotlight and produce on every down. This is a good Texans team that has been hit with the injury bug and just horrible with points off turnovers which really is why their record is bad. The bye week gave them a chance to regroup and get key guys healthy. Case Keenum is going to be a very good quarterback in this league. This could be his breakout game tonight. You never know which Indy team you are going to get. This same team could not score against San Diego a week before they crushed Denver at home. That Denver win came with a price and they will be shorthanded offensively now. Look for Houston to get back on track by doing what they do best and that is playing smash mouth football behind that big offensive line. Houston will run the ball which loosen teams up for the big pass play. Take Houston.

The Jets are in an intriguing win/lose pattern that has persisted through their first 8 games. After
the 49-9 beat down in Cinci (we mentioned how poorly the Jets had played after monumental
wins), they are due for a positive effort this week. Despite a league worst -12 in the net TO margin, the Jets are still 4-4 SU, 5-3 ATS; that will happen when you’re able to rush the ball an
average of 30 times a game and beat opponents at the point of attack 120-78. Add a defense
that allows just 315 YPG, and you have a formidable foe. Speaking of improved defenses, how
about that of the Saints, who under DC Ryan, the equally famous brother of Jets’ HC Ryan, are
allowing a vastly improved 17 PPG. With HC Payton at the helm, it is no surprise that New Orleans
stands 6-1 SU, 5-2 ATS with the only blemish a late game comeback vs the Pats in New England.
Among many positive roles for HC Payton is one that shows him to be 15-3 ATS in the role of non
division road chalk. Yet the ultimate deciding factor in divesting this opinion is the huge edge at
the signal caller spot with veteran QB Brees (68%/8.0) against rookie QB Smith (59%/6.4).
