I don't think Hazelett is going to be at a huge disadvantage on the feet, if at all, against Story. Hazelett has only lost on the feet against Kos and Daley....and he almost finished Kos on the feet in the first round. I think Hazelett can use his length to keep him at bay with his kicks and jab. Story also seems to gas in his fights. Kind of a funny thing which has nothing to do with deciding to make a bet: Against Osipczak, there was a scramble and Story ended up in a similar position as Burkman when he fought Hazelett...Rogan said "Hazelett would have been all over that".

^^ Yeah I agree that Hazelett should be fine on his feet... Story does seem to have some power though. Hazelett is fighting the kind of guy he wants to fight, a wrestler that will probably want to take him down and will end up in some scrambles. But, the cat is sort of out of the bag on Hazelett's submission skills. So I think anyone who fights him is going to play very tight on the mat. He is not a world class grappler that can create from anywhere. I mean, it is not like Story has to fend off Jacare or Maia for 3 rounds, Hazelett is good, but he is not overwhelming.


I just looked Hazelett's record up, here is an interesting fact I just noticed: Hazelett has submitted every non-bjj blackbelt he has ever fought, except Daley and Renier (who Hazelett probably would have subbed if he didn't KO him). Every single guy that has survived him is a bjj blackbelt- Saraiva, Rhalan Gracie, De Souza, and Assuncao. That's crazy.

I am pretty sure Story found himself in danger of getting subbed a few times in his UFC fights as well. Hazelett is ALWAYS working for submissions off his back. A bad scenario for this fight is if it becomes a slugfest....they both have a tendency of getting into them early on in the fight.

I am pulling for Hendricks and every one knows I think he will eventually dethrone GSP. But Brenneman is a stiff test. Brenneman has teh wrestling to stuff at least some of Hendricks, and he has much faster hands. Though Hendricks has the power.

Hendricks had some trouble against TJ Grant, but only on the feet. Grant came to that fight fresh off a training camp in Thailand working on his Muay Thai (why he did that prepping for an awesome wrestler confuses me, but whatever). I don't think Brenneman will give Hendricks trouble on the feet, and I think in 3 rounds, Hendricks will be able to out point Brenneman. I just don't want to lay down money @-360, I am trying to stay away from heavy favorites.
