I am trying to recall my good movie experiences and bad ones in the last few years. I know I enjoyed:
Gran Torino & No Country for Old Men (maybe my favorite movie ever) were both good, Iron Man & Star Trek were good popcorn flicks... other than that, everything else I saw I think I was mostly meh. I saw IronMan 2 a few weeks ago, it was just sort of ok I guess. I didn't care for Avatar really.
I liked Gran Torino and No Country. There were plenty of other good ones, though:
2010
Kick-Ass
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Shutter Island
2009
Inglorious Basterds
Up In the Air
Tyson
Anvil! The Story of Anvil
Moon
Whip It
Nine
2008
There Will be Blood
Burn After Reading
Cloverfield
Hellboy II
Juno
Rachel Getting Married
Vicky Christina Barcelona
Waltz with Bashir

I am starting to like quality small screen better than the movies. I like Dexter. I like the Sopranos. I have been just getting entire series on DVD and watching them.
I really like Dexter and Spartacus. The Tudors is okay, but not groundbreaking. I never did see The Sopranos but I'd like to check it out. I wish Netflix would put the shit up for streaming.

Havent seen most of those. Of those that I did see, Shutter Island was a C. Inglorious Basterds was awesome, forgot that one. Didn't care for There Will be Blood except for the one line. Hellboy, I didn't see because I didn't like Hellboy 1. Juno was good, I liked that alot.
There are some good ones you are right. Now that I think back, there are some decent ones. But 98% of it is still crap.

Rome was pretty awesome too, IMO. Should have had more seasons.

.
Of those you have listed shutter island is the only one I've seen and I liked it.
I maybe very picky about movies but for the most part the movies I watch I end up liking.
Theres nothing wrong with any of the movies you picked or mmascinetist picked they just arent the type of movies I watch. The one I liked, shutter island ,MMAscientist didnt like we just all like a different type of movie is all.Nothing wrong with that were not all suppose to like the exact samethings
Re: Off topic thread(basketball,movies,etc whatever)
my favorite roll is the bahama mama. BUt I like spicy tuna and thai rolls too. Really I will eat any and all of it. I get obsessed with it and eat it like 4 times a week sometimes. Luckily there are 4 or 5 good places within 5 miles of me.
We use to only eat sushi once every two weeks but since I got good at making it at home and dont have to drive 40 miles we have became obsessed with it too and now eat it 2-3 times a week.
I hope that damn oil spill doesnt jack up the price of seafood the shit already costs enough
I
just like well told stories that have something to say. But if a movie is funny and interesting I will watch it, even if it is just a flick. I don't really care for action movies at all
Thats cool.I'll watch well told stories but they arent may favorite .I just a mystery/action film person
